Sanford businessman Scott Sturgill has received the endorsement of Carlos Lopez-Cantera, the Lt. Governor of Florida, for his campaign for Congressional District 7.
“Scott Sturgill has a proven record of success in the private sector and this experience will serve him well when he represents the residents of Central Florida in Congress.” Republican Lopez-Cantera said of Sturgill, the former Board Chair of the Greater Sanford Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“He will be an effective leader for lower taxes and a strong economy in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am proud to support him."
“Lt. Governor Lopez-Cantera is one of our great conservative leaders, I am happy to have his support as I seek to return CD7 to Republican control.” Sturgill said.
Congressional District 7 is a Central Florida based district primarily situated in Seminole County, FL. The district covers all of Seminole County and a small portion of Orange County. Democrat freshman Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy unseated long time Republican Congressman John Mica narrowly in the 2016 General Election.
Scott Sturgill is a Sanford businessman and CEO of Durable Safety Products located in Seminole County. Sturgill is a fourth generation Seminole County native and serves on numerous charitable boards. Scott and his wife Tracy have married for 14 years and have two children.
